Note from the Webmaster

Welcome to the official Crucible website.  My name is Steve Lottich.  I first experienced the music of Crucible in late 1999 when visiting the Studio M Live website's archives of the first North East Art Rock Festival (NEARfest '99).  I was already a big fan of Spock's Beard and Alaska, and so was curious about the other 8 artists appearing at the 2-day event.  By the time I had absorbed all of the music from this festival, I had two more favorites:  IQ and, of course, Crucible.

After some occasional contact with the band via e-mail in mid-2001, I was encouraged to create an unofficial Crucible website and given permission to use whatever materials I needed.  In October 2001, I designed and created this site, going online in November.  In January 2002, the band told me they had dropped their official site, and that I could now dub my site the Official Crucible Website.

For information regarding Crucible, please use the contact information on the home page.  For inquiries relating to this website (for example, to inform me of errors or to suggest additional links), e-mail me at spoon@southslope.net.  Please be sure to include "Crucible" in the subject, so I can distinguish it from spam.
